A Little From My Story

Thanks for visiting my site. Here are three facts I hold dear to my heart.

• I was born in Chicago and am proud of that because I think it’s one of the greatest cities in the world.

• Dogs make better pets than cats. Deep down everyone knows this is true.

• I am the messiest person I’ve ever known, but somehow I am LOVED by a God who knows every part of the mess.

I started Farther Along in 2021. I love writing and engaging with people, and that’s where this all began. I needed a place to host my sporadic blogs, but also decided a podcast would be fun.

I was stunned when I was able to connect with former Orlando Magic Senior VP Pat Williams for my first episode. I loved the opportunities podcasting gave me for learning from some incredible people and sharing these things with others. After 27 episodes, life caused me to pause the podcast. It’s coming back to life in 2024 and I am beyond excited.

My deepest passion is to know God and follow Jesus, but I am a work in progress. I spent 30 years of my life doing pastoral ministry, and though I no longer work in the church, I believe I am called to help others engage with God and grow in their faith. This led me to begin Spiritual Growth Coaching, which I do in addition to several other pursuits.

Through nearly 30 years of pastoral ministry, earning degrees in biblical studies and spiritual formation and discipleship, as well as years of being poured into by a spiritual director, I have much to offer. The fact that God uses me to walk alongside others never ceases to fill me with awe and gratitude.

What it all comes down to is Farther Along exists to make sure you know that your story isn’t over. There is a God, He is real, and He is relentlessly pursuing you. I hope you find Farther Along to be helpful as you move forward, one step at a time.
